New Profiles

With the custom formats update, you will be able to add global quality tags to your profile. See Quality Tags for more information on how they work (Note: for profile wide quality tags, all are always required, so the RE modifier won't have any effect). These act as a replacement of restrictions (must, must not contain) and language selection. While the old methods won't go away and will still be the main method for new users, it is advised for advanced users to switch to the new method. Preferred tags are also replaced by just creating a custom format with those tags in it, so it is recommended for users to switch to that.

How to update your profiles?

Updating must and must not contain (aka restrictions)

First of all, it's a good idea to do some housecleaning on your restrictions. Make sure all tags are really needed on the latest Radarr version. Tags for specific qualities (such as Screeners, BR-Disks, etc. are not needed anymore). Then create a custom tag for each in the profiles you want to put those restrictions.

For example, consider you had the following restrictions up until now:

Must contain Must not contain
SPARKS DVDSCR, BR-DISK, HDTS, YIFY, 3D

You can safely remove DVDSCR, BR-DISK and HDTS from there, as Radarr will handle those just fine. Now you can add C_SPARKS to any profile where you want sparks to be required to be present in the releasename. Then you can add C_N_YIFY and C_N_3D to any profile where you don't want either YIFY or 3D to be present in the releasename. It is recommended that you read up on the quality tags a bit, so if you have a lot of similar restrictions, you can probably create a regex for them.

Updating Language

Updating the language of your profile is very easy. Set the language of all profiles to None and then add L_YOURLANGUAGE to the Global Quality Tags field.

Updating Preferred Tags

Updating preferred tags to the new recommended method takes the most time. If you don't need Radarr to automatically upgrade releases until your preferred tags are satisfied, you can probably leave them for now. Else, check out how to create custom formats for your preferred tags here or take a look at the examples here where your use case is probably already described.
